Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Limbarom ("we", "us") collects when you use the Limbarom mobile application (the "App"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, display name and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier and basic profile information those providers share with us. You may optionally add a profile photo.
- Profile and preferences: your native language, Romanian level, reminder settings, app language and similar settings.
- Learning data: lessons, stories, vocabulary sets and exams you complete, your answers and scores, XP, streaks, daily goals and achievements.
- Voice recordings: when you use speaking exercises, pronunciation practice, monologues or the AI voice dialogue, the App records your microphone audio and sends it to our servers so it can be transcribed and evaluated. Recordings are processed for that purpose only and are not used to train AI models.
- AI assistant conversations: text and voice messages you exchange with the AI assistant are stored in your account so you can revisit them, and are processed by our AI providers to generate replies.
- Voice chat rooms: when you join a chat room your audio is transmitted in real time to the other participants through our real-time audio provider. Room audio is not recorded or stored by us.
- Support and reports: messages, screenshots and content error reports you send us.
- Purchase information: your subscription status, product identifier and transaction dates, provided by Apple App Store or Google Play through our subscription provider. We never receive your payment card details.
- Device and usage data: device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, crash logs, performance metrics and anonymous usage events (for example which screens you open). This data is collected through Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Performance Monitoring.
- Push notification tokens: if you enable reminders we store the device token needed to deliver them.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the App: authenticate you, sync your progress across devices, evaluate your speaking and writing, run the AI assistant and voice rooms.
- To show leaderboards: your display name, profile photo and XP are visible to other users on the leaderboard.
- To manage subscriptions and unlock premium content you have paid for.
- To send the reminders and notifications you have enabled.
- To answer your support requests and fix reported content errors.
- To understand how the App is used, diagnose crashes and improve performance.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect the security of the App and its users.
3. Speech recognition on your device
Some features use the speech recognition service built into your phone (Apple Speech Recognition on iOS, Google speech services on Android). Audio processed by those services is subject to Apple's or Google's privacy policies. Text-to-speech voices are downloaded to your device and run entirely offline; that audio never leaves your phone.
4. Service providers
We share data only with service providers that process it on our behalf and under our instructions:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring) – account, data storage, notifications and diagnostics. Our database and functions are hosted in the European Union.
- OpenAI and Anthropic – transcription and evaluation of your speech, and generation of AI assistant replies. Only the content needed for the request is sent; providers do not use it to train their models under our agreements.
- LiveKit – real-time audio for voice chat rooms.
- RevenueCat – subscription management, together with Apple App Store and Google Play billing.
- Cloudflare R2 – storage and delivery of images, audio and downloadable model files.
- Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple – optional authentication.
5. We do not sell your data or show ads
We do not sell or rent your personal information. The App contains no third-party advertising and does not use advertising identifiers (IDFA / Advertising ID) for tracking.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Voice recordings sent for evaluation are deleted after processing, except where the resulting transcript is saved as part of your learning history. Crash and analytics data is retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. Support tickets are kept for up to 24 months.
7. Deleting your account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the App. Deletion removes your profile, learning data, conversations, uploaded photos and authentication record. Subscription records held by Apple, Google or RevenueCat for accounting purposes are kept as required by law. You can also request deletion by emailing us.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the Turkish KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. 9. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows the current version. Material changes will be announced in the App.
